Solstice Moon Counselling & Art Therapy

Picture
 Hi there,
My name is Leanne (she/her) and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Art Therapist based in Campbell River, BC.
I've entered this field of work as I'm truly interested in the well-being of others. Those moments in life that are typically unpredictable, messy, chaotic and extremely challenging are those moments that I find great appreciation for how resilient, resourceful and hopeful we are as a species. I believe these moments are part of our very real, very human lives that are not always defined by predictability, foresight or our conceived ability to control every situation. Essentially what I am saying is that I have lived long enough, and have experienced a wide array of diverse adversities and life challenges that has provided me with considerable appreciation for the deep well of human capacity for healing, compassion, hope, dreams and healthy, meaningful connection with others.
When I'm not working with clients, I am a practicing artist, a recently retired art educator and a student of life. My leisure time moments are easily filled with what I find most enjoyable: creative time in my studio, a walk in the woods, beachcombing along the shoreline or simply enjoying the liveliness of my family and friends! I love a good cup of tea, sitting and listening to the sound of waves hitting the shoreline, music that makes me want to dance, and those unexpected moments that make me erupt in belly laughter!
I am told that I have a calm presence and that I am an easy person to talk with. I don't mind sharing that I have had a wealth of life experiences (both challenging and rewarding) that has taught me empathy for what others may be experiencing in their lives, it's all part of my life story and the narrative that I hold.
Thank you for visiting my website to see if I might be the type of support you are seeking. I recognize that finding a counselor is a process and it is important to find a person that is the right one to support your journey. The first session provides both of us with the time to gain a better understanding if we will be a good therapeutic fit to meet your needs.
I wish you a peaceful journey as you travel towards your goals, thank you for reading my bio, and visiting my website.
I hope to meet you one day in the future!
All the best,
         Leanne
