Hello, my name is Leanne.
I believe that everyone has the capacity to bring change to their lives!
Perhaps you are seeking to change the path you are currently on with your life,
changing behaviors, opening the possibility for healing and personal growth.
When we have a safe space to speak our truth,
to be heard, to be witnessed,
the journey of healing may begin.
I hold space for vulnerability, personal growth, and empowerment,
and describe my therapeutic style as;
intuitive, collaborative, caring,
creative and ethical.
Individuals seek counselling with me for a
variety of reasons; healing from trauma,
grief and loss, expanding their self-awareness,
creating balance in their life
and finding peace within themselves.
Please know that I hold a non-judgmental lens,
as I believe that we are all navigating
our own personal journeys, exploring ways
to create a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Each person is unique and distinct, and I work to honor this in my counselling practice,
by recognizing how important it is that any approaches used in therapy
are those that will best suit your specific therapeutic needs,
and are those that we collaboratively agree upon.
I will offer you straight talk,
whole-hearted listening
with full presence and compassion,
to ensure that you will feel heard, seen,
and valued as a person.
Through therapy you can explore and make meaning of your experiences, to uncover
your strengths that will support you in creating the vision you have for your future.
Our personal bank of narratives contain the stories of our lived experiences,
the relationships and connections that we have with others, along with our current life story
that is in the process of being created and holds untold possibilities.
You will find that I offer a safe space where you can speak the truth,
to face your fears, to challenge the patterns that are no longer serving you.
I work with cultural awareness and safety and I work from a holistic perspective;
believing that the interconnectedness of our mind, body and spirit,
is intertwined relationally to others and fosters our connection to the natural world.
In my practice you will find that I often turn to the nurturing elements found in nature,
encouraging individuals to reconnect with their
natural surroundings, creating space for reintroducing peace,
mindfulness, balance and grounding.
Thank you for considering me to support you on this part of your life journey.
Please note that I currently offer
Counselling and Art Therapy to Individuals
(Adults ages 19 and older, and to teenagers ages 14- 18 years) only.
I offer in person sessions in Campbell River, BC,
and online sessions for clients throughout British Columbia and across Canada.
It is with deep gratitude that I am able to do this work
within the unceded territory of the Liǧʷiłdax̌ʷ Nation.
I will work continuously to learn, and to grow in my understanding of how to be an authentic ally.
~All the best in your journey of wellness~
Leanne.

Art Therapy
  • Allows access to the imagination in a unique process of self-discovery.
  • It is deeply healing to express feelings creatively and to use this mode of self-expression as a catalyst for change.
  • In the creative process you can allow yourself the opportunity to become profoundly present in the moment.
  • You do not need any previous art experience or special art supplies.
  • Imperfect is encouraged and welcomed. By accepting imperfection this strengthens compassion towards self-expression and self-discovery.
  • The artwork created is not interpreted, does not have meaning imposed upon it that does not come directly from the artist. This allows the artwork to maintain it's innocence.
  • Creative self-expression in the presence of another is an act of vulnerability that can build a bridge for connection.
  •  Non-judgmental, supportive space that genuinely honors and respects individual differences, where you may learn to trust your creative impulse and engage fully in the moment.
  • Art therapy combines the process of creative art expression with models of counselling to enhance emotional, physical and mental health and well-being.
  • Promotes distancing from the inner voice of self-criticism and self-doubt and enhances curiosity, meaning making and self-awareness.
  • Sets ego aside to allow the intuitive mind to step forward.
